About

John is a Partner in the Audit & Assurance Department and also supports the Business Advisory Department as Team Leader. A finance and economics enthusiast, he brings over ten years of experience conducting audits across various sectors in East Africa. His expertise spans finance, economics, project management, and public policy. John specializes in guiding clients toward sustainable financial practices and is deeply committed to integrating sustainability into business strategies through active engagement in public policy discussions. Since March 2022, John has been heading the Audit and Business Advisory service lines at Keldine & Co. LLP. In this capacity, he leads teams in conducting external audits, internal audits, internal controls reviews, spot checks, and risk assessments, while also providing business advisory services with a strong focus on financial sustainability. He is dedicated to delivering client training that emphasizes socially responsible financial practices for organizations in both the private and public sectors. He has led audits, internal controls reviews, policy development initiatives, training sessions, and advisory engagements for several non-profit organizations, including Faith to Action Network, Sirikoi Trust, and Health Action International. Additionally, he has led audits of projects funded by major development partners such as the European Union, SIDA, DANIDA, the Gates Foundation, and the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Prior to joining Keldine & Co. LLP, John worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Kenya and Uganda from September 2015 to January 2021. During this period, he served clients in both the private and public sectors, acting as both a team member and team leader in numerous audit engagements. His responsibilities included engagement planning, audit execution, client relationship management, and conducting both internal and external trainings. With expertise in IFRS and special purpose audits, John consistently applied a finance and sustainability lens to his work, ensuring alignment with sustainable financial principles. While at PwC, he interacted with several major international donors, including UNDP, UNHCR, UNOCHA, UNICEF, DFID, USAID, the European Union, and SIDA.
